Simon Kenton class of ‘56 celebrates 60 years

The 1956 graduation class of Simon Kenton High School, now East Clinton High School, met for its 60th reunion on Saturday, July 16 at the Community Christian Church in Lees Creek.

The 14 members and spouses attending were: Marvin and Juna Bond, Jim and Ruth Georges, Dick Leslie, Bill and Shirley (Cassidy) Smith, Shirley (Young) Rittenhouse, Mary Jane Bean Bentley, Sandra McCall Rutherford, Sally Curtis Deprez, David and Marjorie Huff, Jim Leslie, Wayne and Betty Pinkerton, Sam and Mary Ann Moore, and Evalind Ellis Pickering.

The noon meal was catered by Dan and Cynthia Saylor followed by a time of catching up and reminiscing. As it was Marvin Bond’s birthday and the group wished him birthday wishes in song. It was decided to meet again in July 2017 at 2 p.m. at the church.
