Currently on display at the Highland House Museum in Hillsboro for the first time since 1955 are the artworks of the Detwiler woman, a mother and three daughters whose family had a nationwide impact.The Hillsboro women were known for their paintings and several of their works can be viewed at the museum operated by Highland County Historical Society through July 20.The mother, Emma Sayler Detwiler, was born in 1849 and died at 84 in 1933. The daughters were Irene Detwiler (1872-1962), Margaret Detwiler Stafford (1874-1935) and Frances H. Detwiler (1878-1959).

Hillsboro man released from prison, heading to STAR

A Hillsboro man currently in prison at the Southeastern Correctional Institution was granted early release on Friday during a video hearing in Highland County Common Pleas Court, and he will go immediately to STAR.Thomas A. A Lynchburg woman initially charged with vehicular manslaughter pled no contest in Hillsboro Municipal Court to a reduced charge of reckless operation Friday and was given a suspended sentence.Betty L.
