West marks 50 years with Legion


Walter A. West, left, is presented with a commendation recognizing his 50 years with Mowrystown Roy W. Wilson American Legion Post 694. Presenting the award is Post Commander Chuck Emery. West is a Korean War veteran, retired state superintendent with the Ohio Department of Transportation, and currently helps his sons farm in the Mowrystown area. The Mowrystown American Legion has nearly doubled its membership in recent months, is meeting more regularly, and is becoming more active in the community.
