Merle Norman celebrates 15 years

On Thursday, Nov. 15, Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio and Salon in Hillsboro celebrated its 15-year anniversary with a ribbon-cutting with the Highland County Chamber of Commerce as well as a weekend open house Thursday through Saturday.

Guests were able to enjoy treats from White’s Bakery and a free chair massage from Maureen Adray of Adray Therapeutic Massage.

Merle Norman opened its doors in November of 2003. Owner Rachelle Trefz said she had always wanted to own her own business and wanted to bring products she loves to Hillsboro as the next Merle Norman is 40 miles away in Cincinnati. In order to support small hometown studios, you won’t find Merle Norman available for purchase online and all of Merle Norman’s products are made in America. The company has stayed family-owned since 1931.

Two years after opening the store, a salon was opened next door in conjunction with Merle Norman which now employs hairstylist/cosmetologist Whitney Mathews and nail technician Breanna Kirby. Hair care, spray tanning, manicure/pedicures, and eyelash extensions are available as well as on-site makeovers and make up lessons. The store also carries Ginger Snaps jewelry and Yellow Box shoes.

You can contact Merle Norman at 937-840-0701 or on its Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/MerleNormanHillsboroOhio/.
