Two medical helicopters landed near the scene and transported two victims to a hospital Thursday after a two-vehicle crash on West Main Street in Hillsboro. Two occupants of a sedan, a female driver and a male passenger, were extricated from their vehicle by members of the Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District before being helicoptered to Miami Valley Hospital. “There was a pickup truck with a trailer headed eastbound on West Main Street nearing the intersection with Elm Street,” said Hillsboro police officer Zachary Rash. “The other vehicle involved was a sedan that was on North Elm Street facing South Elm Street waiting at the red light there to go across to South Elm Street. The light for north and south traffic turned green, and the sedan entered the intersection, and the pickup truck ran the red light and hit the sedan pushing it into a light pole.” The driver of the truck was Ivan Moore, 95, of Hillsboro. He was issued a citation for failing to yield at the red light. The identities and condition of the male and female in the sedan were not available.
