Aug. 15, 2024

On Aug. 15, 2024, at 6:02 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call in the area of 100 block of East Main Street for a report of a 2-car crash. Upon arrival, Jo Anne Vincent, 72 years old of Hillsboro was traveling eastbound on East Main Street. Michael Jordan, 47 years old of Cuba was stopped in traffic on East Main Street. Vincent struck Jordan in a rear-end type collision while Jordan was stationary. No injuries were reported on scene. Vincent was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Aug. 16, 2024

On Aug. 16, 2024, at approximately 5:22 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to the 100 block of North High Street for a report of a 2-car crash. Upon arrival, Vicki Knauff, 76 years old of Hillsboro was traveling in the straight lane heading southbound on North High Street. A juvenile from Hillsboro was in the left turn lane in preparation to turn eastbound from North High Street when Knauff crossed over the white line separating the traffic lanes causing her to strike the juvenile in the rear passenger side door. No injuries were reported on scene. Knauff was cited for driving in marked lanes

On Aug. 16th, 2024, at 8:18 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to the 100 block of West Main Street for a report of an intoxicated male trying to fight people. After further investigation, Adam Johnson, 43 years old of Cincinnati was charged with criminal mischief and was cited with disorderly conduct and was transported to the Highland County Justice Center.

Aug. 17, 2024

On Aug. 17, 2024, at 11:56 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to the area of North High Street and Beech Street for a report of a 2-car crash. Upon arrival, Cody Burton, 33 years old of Sardinia was traveling northbound on North High Street in the 100 block. Pamela Huff, 71 years old of Hillsboro was backing from a parking space into the northbound lane of North High Street. Huff backed into the roadway as the northbound lane was occupied by Burton. As a result, Huff backed into Burton. No injuries were reported on scene. Huff was cited for improper backing.

On Aug. 17, 2024, at 9:05 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to a 2-car crash on North High Street near Fenner Avenue. Upon arrival, Skyla Taylor, 20 years old of New Vienna and Anthony Smith, 58 years old of Lynchburg were both facing westbound prepared to exit the Hillsboro Plaza Shopping Center. Taylor made a right-hand turn onto North High Street, exiting out of the entrance of the shopping center. Smith was sitting at the stop light in the exit lane of the shopping center. Smith received the green light and made a right-hand turn onto North High Street striking the passenger side of Taylor. No injuries were reported on scene. Taylor was cited for right-of-way on public highway.

Joseph Colborn, 54 years old of Columbus was arrested on an outstanding warrant and was cited for driving under suspension and operation of manufacturer vehicle without a placard.

Aug. 18, 2024

On Aug. 18, 2024, at 8:59 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call reference a 2-car crash on East Main Street near East Street. Upon arrival, Susan Perdue, 69 years old of Peebles was stopped waiting in traffic westbound on East Main Street at the intersection of East Street. Joey Elsass, 29 years old of Hillsboro was traveling the same direction behind Perdue. Elsass did not maintain assured clear distance ahead. As a result, Elsass struck Perdue in a rear-end type collision. No injuries were reported on scene. Elsass was issued a citation for assured clear distance ahead.
