The Highland County Chamber of Commerce will host its 34th annual golf outing on Friday, Sept. 20 at Buckeye Hills Country Club in Greenfield.

Highland County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jamie Wheeler said she hopes the event will surpass the fundraising of last year’s event.

“It basically helps us with our programming,” Wheeler said. “It benefits the businesses in our membership through our educational events, our networking events, and some of the different benefits we provide.”

A team of four can enter the event at a cost of $350, but all the openings for golfers have been sold out for about a month.

“It sells out before we pretty much open registration because it’s the 34th year, and the teams that have played in it always want to come back and play.”

The first three teams in the golf outing will receive prizes, and there will also be prizes for the longest putt, longest drive and other categories.

A silent auction to raise funds for the Highland County Chamber of Commerce will be part of the event. Items to be auctioned will include sports memorabilia and various gift baskets. The chamber is still looking for donations for the auction that can include golf items, entertainment packages, gift certificates, salon and spa items and more.

Opportunities to be a sponsor of the event are still available and start at $100. Sponsorship of the event allows a business to set up on the course to interact directly with golfers and volunteers. All sponsors receive pre and post-event recognition on the Highland County Chamber of Commerce social media accounts.

Additionally, every sponsor will have signage at the event.

There are also available opportunities to volunteer at the event and network with fellow chamber members and Highland County businesses. Volunteers will receive a shirt, meals throughout the day and have a full day of fun on the golf course.
