Highland County hosts Battle of the Bands

The third annual Tri-County Battle of the Bands was held Saturday, August 10 at Crossroads Park near uptown Hillsboro. Vinyl Countdown, representing Clinton County, defended their title and was choses as the winner. The other bands in the showcase were Blue Steel representing Highland County and AR6 from Fayette County. The event is an annual contest that will rotate between the three counties. Executive directors from each local tourism bureaus collaborated and each selected a band to represent their county.

“The Visitors Bureau of Highland County was thrilled to host this event and appreciate all the support of Clinton and Fayette counties,” said Jamie Wheeler, Visitors Bureau of Highland County Executive Director. “We had a great turnout for the event in Highland County and enjoyed an evening of music and fun.”

The opening ceremony began at 7 p.m., the first band took the stage about 7:30 p.m., and each band performed about 45 minutes. The event was free to the public and included food trucks. The winning band’s name will be put on a rotating trophy that will be on display at their Visitors Bureau’s office.
