Threats being investigated by Hillsboro Police Department

Pictured is a City of Hillsboro police cruiser parked at the Hillsboro High School Monday morning as possible threats were made.

The following is a statement from Hillsboro City Schools Superintendent Tim Davis:

“I want to address the social media posts and threat concerns that occurred this morning. We were made aware of a threatening video Friday night after the football game. Students reported that there was a video of someone saying they were bringing a gun to school. The Hillsboro Police department along with the Middle School Administrators were investigating the video over the weekend. From our investigation we didn’t have any information that the video that was reported was from a Hillsboro City Schools student or about Hillsboro City Schools. The post that was circulating this morning was from a snapchat group. The Hillsboro Police department planned on being on site Monday morning as a precaution to ensure the safety of our students and staff. As a parent of students in this district, with family and friends that work here and all our staff and students. I would never put your child or your family at risk.”

The Times-Gazette will report more on this topic as more information is released.
