The Lynchburg Lions Club held a special meeting on Sept. 23 at the Lions Building in Lynchburg. The purpose of the meeting was to hear information about the upcoming election in November. The guest speaker was Michelle Swallen, who is the director of the Highland County Board of Elections. She discussed voter registration, absentee ballot procedures, poll worker duties, ballot security and other pertinent issues. Michelle was accompanied by four staff workers who assist her daily with training and various duties in the Elections Board office.
