McClain and Hillsboro golf compete in Chillicothe

The fourth Frontier Athletic Conference girls golf match was played on Thursday, Aug. 15 at the Chillicothe Country Club.

Going into the match, the Ironladies led the league with a record of 15-0 in FAC matches. Miami Trace was second at 11-4, McClain in third at 8-7, Chillicothe in fourth at 6-9, Hillsboro in fifth at 5-10 and Washington in sixth at 0-15.

The Ironladies won by a convincing margin on Tuesday with a low team score of 191, staying undefeated at 20-0. The Lady Panthers were second with a 222, moving them to 15-5. The Lady Cavaliers were third with a 228 and moved to 9-11 The Lady Tigers took fourth with a 223 and their record is now 10-10. The Lady Lions took fifth with a 245, moving them to 1-19 and Hillsboro took sixth with a 247 to put them at 5-15.

Individually for Jackson, Aubrey Arnold was the medalist and led the team with a 35, followed by Alia Rippeth with a 47, Alayna Hitchcock with a 50, Ava Jenkins with a 59, and Alanta Gibson with a 70 and Noel Saunders each with a 72.

For Miami Trace, Emily Reeves led with a 51, followed by Ashlynd Hippely with a 53, Alison Reeves with a 54, Rylee Ferguson and Kelsy Douglas with a 64 and Karli Wilson with a 66.

For Chillicothe, Cadie Boltenhouse led with a 48, followed by Nia Brown with a 59, Mallorie McCloy with a 60, Qiuchengxi Su with a 61 and Ista McNeal each with a 63.

For McClain, Kaylin Sterling led with a 46, followed by Abbie Lovett with a 58, Sarah Kegley and Emma Marsh with a 64 and Hailey Cornett and Reese Roble with a 66.

For Washington, Faith Wynne led with a 44, followed by Arabella Cadena with a 64, Gwendolyn Duncan with a 67, Addison Yahn with a 70 and Addylyn Mason with a 72.

For Hillsboro, Emma Yochum led with a 59, followed by Blake Herdman with a 62, Amani Cumberland and Rylea Scarberry each with a 63, Halle Jones with a 64 and Reagan Leeth with a 69.

The next FAC golf match is set for Tuesday, Aug. 20 at the Hillsboro Elks at 4 p.m.
