Altrusa International of Highland County recently donated books and journals to clients of the local Alternatives to Violence. This important project was made possible by a monetary grant through the Altrusa International Foundation. One component of the grant focused on domestic violence. Members of Altrusa of Highland County collaborated with staff from the Alternatives to Violence to donate journals along with books for adults and children.
This project, made possible by the grant from the Altrusa International Foundation, is one of the many service projects of the local Altrusa group which promotes literacy in Highland County.
The books and journals were delivered on Sept. 25, 2024, to the agency director, Dara Gullette.
